Nigel Cole
About Mace

Role: Director
Nigel joined Mace in 1996 and was promoted to director in 2005. As head of the Mace Group's aviation sector, Nigel is a member of the construction board.
Nigel commenced his career in the civil engineering design field before moving to site engineering, predominantly within the aviation industry. Since joining Mace nearly 12 years ago he has worked exclusively in the group's infrastructure sector with clients including BAA, British Airways, Dublin Airport Authority and most recently Birmingham International Airport.
Nigel has been involved in excess of 40 aviation projects the most notable being the Terminal 5 project at Heathrow, where Mace provided both construction management and contracting services. He was also project director for the successful £230m refurbishment of Heathrow Terminal 3 in 2004/5, where a complex portfolio of airside projects were delivered to the agreed success criteria.
Nigel's early design experience and subsequent project management roles have provided a strong understanding of the construction delivery process and an expertise in the delivery of aviation projects. Working within the aviation industry on a continuous basis has enabled him and his team to continually provide value through early involvement throughout the development process.
The success of the infrastructure sector and most notably the aviation construction group over the last 14 years has resulted in the establishment of an aviation specific business for 2008 which Nigel is heading up. Reporting to the Mace Group board, the aviation sector offers project management, construction management, contracting and management contracting service.
