Steve Booth has been with Mace for 15 years and was appointed to the board in 1995.
In the late 1990s he established the regional business in Birmingham and Manchester where, as programme manager for Manchester City Council, Mace managed the rebuilding of the city centre following the 1996 IRA bombing.
Following the MBO in 2001 he developed the retail and residential sectors and then focused on the creation of Mace Plus, the group's major projects contracting subsidiary. Mace Plus has now won over £350m of work in the south east of England in the retail, education, commercial, residential and public sectors.
Latterly, as well as continuing his overview of Mace Plus and the retail consultancy team, Steve has taken over the running of the business in Scotland and the group's recruitment company, The People Group. In addition he is the group quality policy director overseeing the development of management processes and ISO 9001 registrations.
