Como hosts breakfast briefing on the state of the market

Como hosted its second annual 'state of the market' breakfast briefing and invited Kevin McCauley, head of central London research for CBRE, as the guest speaker. The event was attended by leading clients and consultants from companies including Land Securities, UBS, Davis Langdon, GTMS, Swanke Hayden Connell, BID, Turner & Townsend and Chapman Bathurst.
In his overview of the London office market Kevin outlined three possible scenarios, each of which factored in the impact of the recent correction in the market caused by the US financial squeeze. He expressed his opinion that there would be a downturn within the next 12-18 months based on a correction related to the loss of some finance sector jobs in London and commented on the investment market which he believes peaked six months ago.
Como's sales and marketing director Robin Harris commented: "It was a great opportunity for us all to take stock of the present situation. The information will certainly assist us when reviewing our business plan over the next few months."
