Como wins Civic Trust Award for Bourbon Lane
Media

On the 12th March 2008, Como's Bourbon Lane project (for client Octavia Housing and Care) picked up a prestigious Civic Trust Award. These are awarded to buildings exhibiting good design which also provides an excellent built environment for their occupants. Como managing director, Damien Kenny and Como Homes commercial executive, Colin Hardy attended the dinner which took place at a special event in Newcastle.
The Bourbon Lane scheme also won the highly sought after special award for the Housing Scheme of the Year 2008, sponsored by English Partnerships and beating off some 49 other candidates for the accolade. The judges commented that the scheme represents '... a lively and exciting approach to a very difficult public realm site' and remarked that the project was ‘impeccably built', which is a great reflection on the experience and achievements of the Como team.
Now in their 49th year, the Civic Trust Awards are the oldest architectural awards, making this a significant achievement for all involved on the project.
