Mace secures framework with GMPTE

The Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE) has appointed Mace as one of its consultancy framework service providers for programme and project management and contract administration.

The four-year consultancy framework will be used to deliver a wide range of infrastructure projects for bus, rail and tram services including the high profile planned expansion of the Metrolink tram network which will see investment of £650m over the next few years. Other activities include new quality bus corridors, bus rapid transit schemes, new and refurbished transport interchanges and the expansion and improvement of existing transport/infrastructure facilities.

Finally, earlier this year GMPTE submitted a bid to improve public transport across Greater Manchester to the government's Transport Innovation Fund (TIF). If successful, GMPTE will invest a further £3 billion on further expansions to the Metrolink network and schemes to improve heavy rail and bus infrastructure for Manchester City Centre.
