Information

The Bahrain City Centre development is another multi-purpose, mega-mall project delivered by Mace for the Majid Al Futtaim Group of Companies (Dubai) who are now expanding throughout the Gulf Region following the success of the Mall of Emirates. The Bahrain City Centre development will be constructed on the reclaimed coastline of Bahrain, on the northern coast of Manama in the new commercial district and work commenced on site in February 2006, to be completed in 28 months in June 2008. The site is approximately 130,000 square meters that will be connected to the adjacent highways via elevated road ways.

The Bahrain City Centre is a mixed use development combining unique leisure, lifestyle and entertainment destinations into a unified shopping experience. To provide these experiences MAF Shopping Malls have combined mall, hotel and water park projects in the same development to satisfy local, regional and tourist demands.

The retail component is approx 220,000 sq. m of convenience, fashion and entertainment outlets on three levels providing a total of 350 units. The water park is located on the roof of the multi-story car park and contains 12 indoor and outdoor rides within an area of 12,000 sq. m.

Hotel accommodation comprises a 5 star Kempenski 14 floor hotel and a 4 star Ixis 12 floor hotel; providing 253 and 294 rooms with shared hotel facilities. These will be directly connected to the mall and water park.

Finally the car park will contain 5500 parking bays on 8 levels. Direct access from the local authority roads is provided by american style on/off ramps delivering customers to the parking areas with no queuing on entry and exit.
