One development, many uses
Mace has negotiated and been awarded four separate contracts on phase one of Chatham Place in Reading, a £45m mixed use development as part of the regeneration of the town centre.
Client Muse (formerly Amec Developments) appointed Mace as principal contractor to deliver the enablement infrastructure and public realm and provide overall site security and common logistics management for the whole site. This contract follows on from the construction advisor role Mace has been providing to the client on this and other projects.
Phase one, for which architects Cartwright Pickard Associates produced the masterplan, comprises the enablement infrastructure, public realm, two residential buildings and a multi-storey car park.
Expected to commence in 2009, phase two of the development will comprise decking over the inner relief road in Reading to join the development with the town centre.
